This feature is used to protect your account from other profiles that you don't want to follow you.

By turning on the feature, the person will be able to comment on your photos, but only they will see the comments.

However, it is worth mentioning that the person who is restricted will still be able to see your stories and both you and the profile will have access to each other's photos.
It is a less obvious resource than blocking, since when you block an account the person can know that this has happened because they will no longer see your profile or find you through searches.
But when you restrict a person, they will never know about it, as everything will remain normal for them.
How to restrict a profile?
To restrict a profile, there are four ways to do this, both on iPhone and Android, which can be in the user's profile, in post comments, in your settings and in someone's chat.

In the app on Android or iPhone systems, the easiest way to restrict a person is through their own profile, despite the other ways.
Enter the user's profile and next to the name you will find a bell and three dots, clicking on these dots you will find a series of options, the first of which is “Restrict”.
And if you want to remove the restriction, just follow the same path, this time clicking on “Remove restriction”.

You can also restrict a profile on Instagram web. Simply access it and at the top, right next to the name, you will find a series of symbols.
The last one is three horizontal dots, access this tab and the second option is “restrict”. And to undo it you can do the same.
